Kulon Progo, IDEA – Kulon Progo Regent, Hasto Wardoyo, appreciated the piloting initiative of Public Accountability Village. He conveyed this at the Kulon Progo district government office complex while welcoming the IDEA Yogyakarta audience together with the Kulon Progo Communication and Informatics Office and two villages that will pioneer the pilot of the public accountability forum, Thursday (05/04). The two villages are Sendangsari village, Pengasih sub-district and Bumirejo village, Lendah sub-district, Kulon Progo.
According to Hasto, initiatives related to the Public Accountability Forum in the village are important. He hopes that there will be innovation from the public accountability forum. The innovation in question is the development of technology that can help residents to obtain public services.
"So that the benefits of information technology are truly felt by the people," said Hasto.
As is known, IDEA Yogyakarta together with Kulon Progo Communication and Information Office, Sendangsari and Bumirejo villages have just agreed to form a Public Accountability Village Forum in both villages. The agreement was made during a coordination meeting. The results of the coordination meeting were then conveyed during an audience with the Regent of Kulon Progo.

Led by Rudiyatno as the head of Kulon Progo Communication and Information Service, in the audience Tenti Novari from IDEA Yogyakarta said that the Public Accountability Village Forum initiative is part of IDEA's efforts to help create good governance down to the smallest level of government, namely the village. Previously, according to Tenti, IDEA has also supported the Kulon Progo Regency Government to enter as a region that is part of the OGP (Open Government Partnership).
"The pilot project in Bumirejo Village and Sendangsari Village is another form of support from IDEA, so that villages in Kulon Progo implement good governance," said Tenti.

Furthermore, Galih Pramilu, an IDEA activist, said that the two pilot villages would start holding meetings to discuss the implementation of public accountability in the second week of April 2018.
"Hopefully, at the end of April 2018 the results of the pilot project can be presented to all villages in Kulon Progo," he concluded.
